Blue Horizons to Open to K-5 Students August 2021

Liberty Elementary School District voters approved bond funding to build School #7 in the northern area of the school district in the Blue Horizons community. The school will be built with both bond funding and Arizona School Facility Board (SFB) funds. Blue Horizons Elementary will open in August 2021 to K-5 students, 6-8 grade students will phase in afterwards.

Liberty Elementary School District voters approved bond funding to build School #7 in the northern area of the school district in the Blue Horizons community. The school will be built with both bond funding and Arizona School Facility Board (SFB) funds. Blue Horizons Elementary will open in August 2021 to K-5 students, 6-8 grade students will phase in afterwards.

We thank the community for your input at our public forum. The Governing Board approved boundary Scenario C as recommended by the committee for Blue Horizons Elementary.

The Governing Board also approved a two-year phase in for students. K-5 students will attend Blue Horizons starting August 2021, and enrollment will be expanded to include students in K-8th grades in August 2022. Students in 6th-8th grade will continue enrollment at Liberty Elementary School, with transportation.

Families in the Blue Horizons attendance area, who wish their K-5 children to continue enrollment at Liberty Elementary, should complete an open enrollment application. Open enrollment applications are due by March 15th. Preference is given by the date of open enrollment application. After transportation routes are established, consideration will be given to provide transportation to open enrollment students from Blue Horizons to Liberty Elementary during the first year phasing in enrollment. Decisions on open enrollment transportation availability will be determined no later than March
